Well chuffed to announce the hiring of John Maloyd as my Managing Director.
Hardly a surprise, John has joined the Corp® as Managing Director following an incredible first year that saw us form relationships with some of New Zealand’s most trusted brands. In just 12 months we’ve created global advertising campaigns, social media action, product launches, plain old content, promos, a feature film script and plenty of radio on BaseFM.
John and I have been working together (on and off) for around 4 years now. We started at Saatchi and from there we've built an incredibly strong working relationship. The reality is that I created the MD role specifically for John, so, as you can imagine, I’m pretty pleased he accepted. Would have been well bad if he’d have said no.
John is set to run the Corp® operation, while also bringing his client pampering and digital expertise to the table as well as overseeing a major restructure of our Spotify.
When I set this up I was purposely very single minded in what I was selling as I figured it was easier for people to buy a single discipline 'content' rather that the ‘360’ waffle they usually hear. Now we’re established and have a good client base, we can wheel out our digital chops - which we haven’t really even talked about yet. It's a pretty exciting time and as you can imagine, John is integral to that.
And if you've worked with us you'll know that the Corp® isn't anywhere near a regular advertising agency or production company and so it's important I bring in people that not only get that, but can work with the model we run here as well as working with our clients systems.
And if you've worked with John - you'll know he's pretty damn good at all of that.
